DESCRIPTION
The EDELRID Shield is an In-Mold climbing helmet, designed for those tackling long and multi-pitch routes where the weight on the harness isn't the only weight to consider: the weight on your head matters just as much. In-Mold technology directly fuses the outer polycarbonate shell with the expanded polystyrene (EPS) inner core, resulting in a lightweight yet structurally solid construction, capable of effectively absorbing and distributing impact energy.
Protection and Certifications
The Shield is certified EN 12492, the European standard for mountaineering and climbing helmets, which includes specific tests against lateral, front, and rear impacts. This perimeter coverage is essential on sport or trad routes where rockfall can come from any direction, not just from above.
