DESCRIPTION
The Wild Country Revo is an assisted-braking belay device that solves one of the most critical issues in crag safety: incorrect rope orientation. Unlike traditional devices, the Revo works independently of the rope's insertion direction, eliminating the risk of reverse loading, which in conventional systems can completely compromise the braking function.
Bidirectional Locking Mechanism
The heart of the device is a rotating inertia cam: in the event of a fall or uncontrolled rapid rope slippage, the inertial element automatically activates, locks the rope, and stops the fall without requiring manual intervention from the belayer. This mechanism operates 360°, making it effective with ropes inserted "correctly" as well as in an inverted configuration—a condition that can occur even among experienced climbers due to distraction or stress.
