Triple-action HMS carabiner for belaying and rappelling
The CAMP Atom 2Lock is an HMS carabiner with an automatic double-action locking mechanism, designed for belaying and rappelling. The 2Lock gate requires a precise sequence—rotate and press—before it can be opened, effectively eliminating the risk of accidental opening during safety maneuvers.
Technical features
- HMS (pear-shaped) form that ensures optimal load distribution and smooth operation with a Munter hitch
- SphereLock nose geometry: rounded profile that reduces accidental snagging and allows for quick clipping even with one hand
- High major axis breaking strength, suitable for use with flat belay devices (ATCs, plates) and tube-style devices
- Wide gate opening for quick rope insertion even with gloves
- Aluminum alloy construction for low weight coupled with high mechanical strength
The combination of the HMS shape and the double-action gate makes it particularly suitable for those who use the Munter hitch as a belaying and rappelling system, both at crags and in alpine environments. The SphereLock geometry reduces premature rope wear on the carabiner's nose, extending the useful life of both.
