DESCRIPTION
The Wild Country Friend 0.5 is a new generation twin-axle camming device, designed for climbers who demand maximum performance from their rack.
This evolution of the iconic Friend introduces a series of significant technical improvements:
- Cam angle of 13.75° for optimized holding power
- Hollow twin axle and milled lobes for maximum holding capacity and reduced likelihood of snagging
- Flow Cord with a seamless core-to-sheath construction, ensuring smooth, snag-free extension
The distinctive feature of the Wild Country Friend is the combination of the thumbloop and the extendable sling: a design that reduces the need for additional quickdraws, minimizes rope drag, and decreases the potential for the device to "walk" into the crack.
The updated range now includes the 0.3 size with a twin axle, while the size 4 integrates a pre-tensioned, symmetrical lobe closing mechanism.

Extendable Flow Cord Technology: The new cord with a seamless core and sheath eliminates rigid reinforcement points, allowing for smooth, snag-free extension.
Nylon and UHMWPE outer sheath, developed to resist cuts and abrasion, with a UHMWPE core for mechanical strength.
Red wear indicator integrated into the core signals when it's time to replace the sling.
14-year certified lifespan: resistant to UV rays, humidity, and freeze/thaw stress (10 years of use + 4 of proper storage).

Milled and polished cam lobes: soft, untreated aluminum with 8–10% superior grip compared to anodized surfaces.
