DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Pur'dry is a replacement pick designed exclusively for dry tooling, engineered to be mounted on Petzl's Nomic and Ergonomic technical ice axes. It is not a versatile or multi-purpose pick: its geometry has been specifically developed to withstand the stresses that rock and wood impose on tools during artificial progression.
Construction and Geometry
The uniform 4 mm thickness along the entire length of the pick is not a minor detail: it guarantees significantly higher torsional resistance compared to thinner picks, reducing the risk of deformation during lateral movements or forced recoveries. The teeth positioned on the lower part of the pick ensure effective engagement on artificial holds and rock cracks, also contributing to the stability of the tool during hand changes – a critical moment in dry tooling progression, especially on vertical or overhanging walls.
Compatibility and Use
- Exclusively compatible with Petzl Nomic and Petzl Ergonomic
- Intended solely for dry tooling: not suitable for ice or mixed alpine climbing
- Replacement part that extends the lifespan of technical tools without having to replace the entire ice axe
