DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Quark Adze is a technical ice axe designed for those tackling challenging terrain such as vertical ice walls and mixed climbing. It's a tool that covers a very wide range of uses: from ice climbing to technical mountaineering on steep ridges and gullies, with no compromises in terms of performance or control.
Construction and pick
The ICE steel pick is geometrically optimized to penetrate effectively into compact ice and to ensure stable anchoring in all conditions, from fragile to glassy ice. The adze is interchangeable, allowing it to be replaced in case of wear or to adapt the tool to different needs without having to change the entire ice axe.
Ergonomic handle and rests
The shaft integrates two distinct rests: the TRIGREST, a finger rest that improves stability during placements, and the GRIPREST, designed to relieve tension on the wrist during recovery and rest phases. Together, the two systems allow for a safer and less tiring grip, reducing muscular effort on long sequences. The overall balance of the tool promotes precise movements even in uncomfortable positions or with gloves.
